For General Surgery Education Training programme trainees, via NZAGS, fees are refunded by Te Whatu Ora, via your hospital.
There are two components to the annual training fee, the NZAGS portion and the RACS portion. Each organisation sets their own fee.

Fees are paid by all trainees. For those on flexible training fees are apportioned on a pro rata basis, i.e. half the fee for flexible trainees. No technology fee is required for those on interruption or deferral.

In addition, there is a one-off fee of $977 including GST, for new trainees only, for the Surgical Education Assessment Modules (SEAM).
